How to taunt/insult a girl who is a little bit mean w/o embarrassing her?

There is a girl that always teases and taunts me in everything I do. She notices all I do. But she's not the 'super mean-type of girl', she can be sweet sometimes. If you talk to her seriously, she will respond with sincerity. I want to counter her taunts but I'm afraid that she will get mad at me. I easily win 'trash talk' among the boys but I'm afraid to try it to her because I'm afraid she will get embarrassed to her friends . Please help!!!
