Can my landlord raise my rent (NJ)?

So I've just signed a lease with 3 other guys (four total) and have been living there for two weeks (it is a 4 BR apartment in NJ)... When my landlord came by two of us had girlfriends there, brinigng the total to 6 people living there...now my GF is only living there two months while the other girl is going to live there for a year... Now my landlord got in touch with me today and said that a 'tenant' is defined as someone living there for a total of 30 days, consecutive or not, out of the year and if thats the case that they have to be added to the lease. This i can understand an am OKAY with. My question is the landlord is also requesting that we pay extra money per month per additional tenant...now the lease specifically states our rent and the Landlord only pays cold water and sewage for utilities and there are no provisions about how many people can live there etc... can my landlord request this raise? also does the landlord hold the right to simply say our girlfriends cant live there?

I downloaded the SNES emulator SNES9x from CoolROMs.com for about a week and then deleted it. I also downloaded a few ROMS for it an deleted those as well. However, I've noticed that in my program files there are files with the SNES9x icon that pertain to different programs. Ex: In my itunes folder there are 3 files that have the SNES9x icon but are labeled the actual program name (IpodUpadaterExt, ItunesMiniplayer, ItunesOutlookAddin). I haven't noticed any serious slowing down of my computer, popups, or errors...however, just the fact that these icons are all over my computers ProgramFiles, ProgramFile(x86), and Windows folders makes me uncomfortable. Again, no serious slowing down, errors, or random shutdowns, but is it worth spending some money to have it looked at. Also, i have Avast Free Antivirus and it hasn't picked up any virus. However, I understand it's only a free version and not as effective as the pro versions.

Why is sewage coming back up our toilet?

My husband and I just bought a house less than a month ago. We had an inspection done and it passed with flying colors. Almost immediately after we moved in, I noticed that the master bathroom had a bad smell to it, and I noticed the water in the toilet would start to become discolored after it had not been used for a couple of hours. We used only the half bath for about two days. When we lifted the lid of the toilet in the master bath we didn't use for two days, the water had turned brown from sewage. Any ideas what this could be and how expensive it will be to fix it or any remedies we could try before we call the plumber? We have public sewage. Thanks!

How to fix a messed up LG Optimus?

I have an LG Optimus by Tmobile. here's my situation......i am a tenent in a duplex that i have lived in for going on five years that was foreclosed on in April of 2011, i renewed a lease in January 2011 with my landlord at the time that is good threw April of 2012, as of now the property is owned by a bank but i have not been contacted by this bank in any way,shape or form. it is my understanding that the bank is obligated to honor my current lease. long story short, i got a notice on my door from the water district stating that my water will be shut off at the end of the month due to unpaid bills. the balance due is for BOTH units of the duplex, and it states in my lease that the owner is responsible for water,sewage,and garbage. the old landlord isn't responsible because he doesn't own the property, and i feel the bank is responsible but have no idea how to get a hold of them, i'm currently not even paying rent to any one because i don't know who to pay it to because i haven't been contacted by anyone to tell me whats going on or what bank it is that owns it........someone out there has to be able to help me out here, i'm stuck in the middle of a bunch of B.S. simply because i live in this place.

I had to hand dig a sewer line all the way to the septic tank only to find the homeowner who we rented from used a corrugated plastic pipe for the line and tree roots was blocking everything. I installed a clean out and 4 inch pvc. It was no fun because when I removed the clog every flowed out.

I smell sewage in the front yard. I called the city and they checked their end. My friends said if my plumbing inside the house isn't back up then its probably not rooftop vent. aight so i know how to get rid of the program using malwarebytes' and ive done so twice...i use a multitude of anti spyware detection progroms including regrun and spybot. spybot picks up a hijacker called click.media....thing is spy bot cant remove it. another thing...regrun detects 3 rootkits and i can not find reliable software that will detect and remove rootkits. if anyone can help me with those two things then that would be awesome. im thinking that this is where my auto installing security shield is coming from. if im not mistaken the click.media is causing popups for firefox which in and of itself could lead to more malware installing...the rootkits are what have me majorly worried though because i know that malware that runs at boot is DEFINITELY not a good thing...ever... so does anyone know why this rogue spyware is auto installing on my computer...im not downloading anything its just if my computer is on for more than an hour, it auto installs. also if anyone knows of a rootkit removal software would be awesome...id prefer it to be free as i could always just format my hdd and reinstall my os...but thats a pain in the *** and i want to avoid that... so i guess what i need is rootkit removal and advice as to why security shield is auto installing....and how to stop it....thanks ahead of time...

I have a problem with an application I have downloaded and deleted afterwards. Everytime my laptop starts, there's always a pop-up that will come out of the desktop. It is named "open file security warning". And there's the application that I have deleted. I will have to choose if I'll open it or not. It's so annoying because I'll always have to click cancel. And whenever I click open, my antivirus will detect it and the recommended action is move to chest. I searched for that file on the indicated folder where it is located. But I found nothing. Renting nightmare! Help!?

Approximately march 14 or 15,2011 my boyfriend and I moved into a house for rent. About April 8-10, we noticed water pooling under steps and notified landlord and landlords brother(who was in charge of maintenance) who came to home 3 days later and blammed leaking on furnace, however questioned due to odor. About a week later bought washer and dryer. Installed washer, ran a few cycles without any problem until noticed washer stopped when spin cycle hit. Basement was continueing to pool under steps and notified maintenance problem still existed and reported issue with washer. Maintenance man advised me that water wasnt fernance but is was dishwater/ sink water. I specifically asked is flooding could break washer and more important was water sewage water and he strongly said no no, just kitchen sink, promised he would snake that drain. Purchased yet another washer, low and behold after ONE cycle same issue. dirty water pooled in washer and would not spin or drain. Called maintenance, voiced concern and need for action. Landlord voiced plumber would be there that Sat, didnt show until Monday. Basement smelling awful, Monday came home to smelly roots on basement floor and all dirty water drains connected to sump pump. MSD in front yard that Wednesday 5/21/2011, advised sewage hasn't met sewer in about two years due to roots, basement WAS flooding with sewage water and more than likely was sewage water in washer. Not to mention have a serious urinary tract infection. Now two washers later, lied to by maintenance, Over a month of dealing with feces water, no sign of replacement of washer, remeimburstment for ruined clothing mattress Christmas decorations etc. I do not have renters insurance however I would like to know what to do and where to go from here? Do I asked for rent off from time issue evolved without timely action? Another washer? Should I contact a lawyer?

For about a month now there has been awful smells coming from my bathroom. And not just after being used, strong smells of sewerage would just waft out at random. I've had problems with my plumbing before with being able to flush & according to plumbers that have come out; a drain that is used by the whole street was blocked & covered over when a new neighbour renovated their house & was covered over by builders. How to stop Pop Ups on SmartTV?

I just purchased LG SmartTV add-on for my TV. I am noticing that when I click on something, occasionally there are popups, just like there would be if I were on my computer. However it seems that with the SmartTV, a popup is not a new window that can be easily closed, it's considerd a new page. The house I live in has a leaky roof, sewage coming up from my basement floor, my upstairs bathroom leaks into my downstairs dining room, most of my windows either are stuck closed or have cracks in them, it is very poorly insulated, my closets have leaks from the roof, and the space between my front porch and house leak every time it rains. In need of help saving a mightily awesome, old, massive fir tree!?

OK, so in my garden I have this fir tree. It's been there since before I was born, and it's around 70ft tall. It's awesome. If you're using Vista you should be running Internet Explorer 9 by now. There is no Windows version 97 but there is a Windows 98. I'm not sure if your browser is looking like Windows 98 or if your desktop is going back to Windows 98 but that doesn't seem likely. It sounds like you could be behind on Windows updates. You could also try and run an online scan like ESET. It will download a list of current viruses to look for but that's why it's a good scan,...it's up to date.

Dead rodent or plumbing problem?

There is a rodent problem in my loft, it's been baited twice and we're just waiting for all the bait to be taken. HELP! with resetting ipod?

I jailbroke my ipod touch 4th gen about one month ago. I just downloaded like 2 apps with using cydia, yesterday installulous was working fine but today the apps on the store just won’t load, so I tried to re-install it, but I couldn’t add the source: cydia.hackulo.us to cydia. A popup appeared saying that the connection had timed out, while it was connected to wifi and the signal was strong. I've started having some issues with my wifi card because sometimes it will take forever to load pages and sometimes pages loaded seamlessly. I also tried to open the angry birds app (which i did buy on the appstore) but it wouldn’t open, just hours ago it worked fine but now it won’t open, in fact none of the apps opened, so I decided that the solution might be resetting my ipod. I reseted it through my ipod, not though itunes. I did that about 30 minutes ago, at first the device turned off and then I got a blank white screen, then when it got back on the apple logo appeared and then the skull shaped apple from the jailbreaking appears which is normal, but the it doesn’t change. Every 10 min i get the same white screen and the apple logo all over again. But the screen stays static at that skull shaped apple logo. I’m afraid I just screwed up my ipod.

Try going to start-->search and typing in the name of the malicious software and deleting any files related to it. That might get rid of the blocking of the .exe programs, or get rid of it all together. One thing though, it may give you a message that says "Can not delete file. Make sure it is not in use." If it says that, and your not gonna like this, all hope is lost. But i have a way for you to get online, i wouldn't suggest it though. If it gives you a link to purchase the security software, click it, that will let you online. Then try finding a program that blocks malware, if you can get that onto your computer, it will prevent it from preventing you from opening .exe programs. (read it over several times, it will make sense eventually) Then you can run malwarebytes. If it doesn't have a link, then your gonna have to wipe your hard drive.

We moved into a house that the landlord had given up on long time ago. we agreed to repair the house. Being?

inside city limits we assumed that it is city sewage. (bill charges us sewage) but there is a septic system outside on one side of the house and 3 round concrete "things" on the other side of the house. Does anyone know how to get hold of plans of the layout of sewage and water pipes near my house?

I just called the water and sewer Dept. and told them I was going to dig could they send someone out to mark where the sewer and water lines are so I don’t hit one of them while digging. Here in Oklahoma we also have 1-800-Call-Okie = 1-800-xxx-xxxx and they contact everyone involved Phone, cable, water, gas & sewage. They all come out and map their respective items with either paint or little flags.

I read the question as well as the answer. Here is my solution. borrow an Ubuntu linux live CD. boot from that. Enable internet while booting. Download Trinity Rescue Kit from www.trinityhome.org. Burn the image to a CD to get a live CD. Boot from that and remove all virus and malware using that. Other alternative is to reformat and reinstall windows which is not a very usefull option.

Program uninstalled - popup keeps coming up though - avast, licensing alert?

Sometime the Avast wizard does not remove the older version and some of its files....do a serch for Avast and Alwil...and see if any other version comes up ...then your current version...I had to do the same thing when i upgraded to version 5....had to delete 1 folder with .dll 4 version in it..........

A few weeks ago I tried to kill myself by popping a hand full of tylenol. I messed up my insides real bad and now I see a therepist and physitrist. I am now on anti-depressants. I am also losing alot of weight real quickly, I have made myself puke before an'd I hardly eat (if I can get away with it).. My mother and therepist are concerned about my eating habits and my friends mother says if I dont start eating better Im going to get sick. Im a self-harmer, I burn, cut, snap rubber bands against my like skin, push pins into my skin, sometimes i get people pissed off so they'll hit me. I made a promise to my therepist that I wont harm but I broke that the very same night. I have been "struggling" with depression for about a year Ig and have been a self-harmer for like that long 2. I am losing friends quickly because they think Im trouble and I dont have such a good reputation right now. i get teased for trying to kill myself hurtting myself and for being on pills. I have smoked and drank. Im emo/goth by the way. Oh and Im about to be 14. What do you think of this? If you were my bf would you dump me or stay with me?

How to get rid of rogue security?

It's happened to me before. I downloaded Malwarebytes and it just got rid of it. Now, I did a scan on Malwarebytes and it says it got rid of the infections, but the rogue security program is still there. I used rkill to stop all the popups from the program, but it won't let me use Firefox. Whenever I click it, a message pops up reading: "Firefox is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.". Help please.

Cost to replace septic system in Minnesota?

My mother has a very old 2 bedroom house on one acre. The septic system is leaking through the ground. The house and septic sit on a very tall hill. She's had an enormous amount of rain saturating the ground. It appears her laundry water discharge went straight into the ground through a separate Perforated Pipe. But now that is leaking in a separate, but close location. Odd. Could she use a gravity septic system? Looks like they will have to dig under the house to access a pipe from the laundry and repipe the drain, but that is not an issue. She lives in Minnesota. I'm going out there today to look again. But I assume everything will have to be replaced. Will she need all that sewage earth removed as well?

Sewage smell is coming from the rooftop vent but?

My friends said if my plumbing inside the house isn't back up then its probably not rooftop vent. Is that true?If I stand on the ground directly below the roof that where I smell it.If I walk away from that spot the smell stops. There are no puddle or wet spots in the yard. I waiting for the neighbor to get home with the latter but I would rather not go on the roof if I can rule it out.

I tried the system restore today this afternoon and I dont see anymore warnings popups or anything not even the slightest sight of that annoying *** virus. You may have just recited my life exactly! My dad got transferred to out of the country (from USA to greenland) and i have no clue what to do! He never comes home and my mom used to be a teacher but now she has to work in a factory! I have 3 jobs to try to keep a steady in come and i cant relate to anyone here cause its a different culture! I dont have friends and i find my self home alone. BUT what helped me was exercise. I am a fitness freak now and i feel great! Im healthy and I look Just the way i want to. I reccomend you go running or just for a walk once and a while when you have time. It helps clear the mind and it can do a huge number on your mental skills! Before i exercised i didnt do anything but eat sleep and go to work. I dont go to parties and i dont have friends! One thing to rememebr is that its not the end of the world. Life gets better. I am the same age as you, Im an american kid just trying to find his way int he world! You cant live your life thinking about yourself as someone who no one likes.
